ELIGIBILITY: The Win a Seat at the 12th Annual CEO Forum Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia age 21 or older and who have a valid e-mail address at time of entry. Employees of the McGraw Hill Companies, Inc., its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and members of each of their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
HOW TO ENTER: To enter, visit www.businessweek.com/subs/sweeps and follow all entry instructions to complete and submit the entry form. Entries must be received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period. Entrants subject to all online entry notices posted at website including but not limited to Privacy Policy. Entries are deemed to be made by authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Limit: One entry per person for the entire Sweepstakes Entry Period. No mechanical reproductions or computer generated entries permitted. Incomplete, incorrect, illegible or mutilated entries are automatically disqualified. All entries and requests become Sponsor's property and will not be returned or acknowledged.
PRIZE/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (ARV): One (1) Grand Prize: Winner’s choice of a Trip for One (1) to attend the 12th Annual CEO Forum in Beijing, China from November 11-12 of 2008 (ARV: $9,000) OR $5,000 cash awarded in a form of a check in the winner’s name. Odds of winning depend on total number of entries received, estimated at 1 in 480,000.
Trip includes: One (1) pass to attend the 12th Annual Forum ("Event"), round-trip coach airfare to Beijing, China from a major commercial airport nearest winner's primary residence in the US, four (4) nights hotel accommodations and $750.00 in spending money awarded in a form of a check, as allowance for meals and ground transportation. Prize does not include airport transfers, meals, hotel incidentals, gratuities, service charges, airport fees, or any other expenses not specified herein, all of which are the responsibility of the winner. Winner must comply with any security procedure or measures imposed by the agency authorized by the CEO Forum (“Agency”) and/or its representatives and pass a background check if required and also any security or other requirements of the host country. The Agency reserves its right in his sole discretion to suspend or cancel the participation of any winner or guest due to non-compliance with any security procedure or inappropriate behavior or misconduct. In the unlikely event that the Event is cancelled or altered in any way which would prevent or invalidate the awarding of reserved seating to attend the Event, the Sponsor is responsible only for providing the remaining portions of the prize as described above minus the Event portion of the Prize. If the Winner is confirmed and in the unlikely event there is not sufficient time for the Sponsor to make travel arrangements before the Event takes place, the Sponsor shall have no further obligation to Winner other than to give a choice of a trip to Beijing, China minus the Event portion of the prize (which must be taken within 12 months from prize notification date) OR $5,000 cash in lieu of trip. If the Winner cannot travel due to any reason whatsoever after all or partial travel arrangements have been made and paid for, Sponsor shall have no further obligations to award the Prize. Actual value of trip depends on location of Winner, airfare and room rates at time of stay. If actual value of trip is lower than ARV, the difference will not be awarded. Blackout dates and restrictions may apply. Winner is responsible for obtaining proper documentation (e.g., passport, visa, valid photo ID) prior to travel.
RANDOM DRAWING & WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about 9/23/08 from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period. Random drawing will be conducted by an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final. Winner will be notified by mail within 3 days and will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (“Affidavit/Liability Release”) within seven (7) days of date printed on notification. If the Winner fails to send back the Affidavit/Liability Release within the time allowed or if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the Prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected at random from among all eligible entries. Sponsor reserves the right to verify qualifications of the Winner. Winner will be notified with the details of his/her Prize within approximately seven (7) days of receipt of executed Affidavit/Liability Release. Prize may not be transferred except at the sole discretion of Sponsor or to a surviving spouse. Acceptance of Prize constitutes written permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winner’s name, hometown, prize won and likeness for online posting and publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation. All taxes on prize are the winners' responsibility.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Participating entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges and the Sponsor.
